We took a trip this weekend to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania (about 45 minutes west of Philadelphia). It’s still early spring so we were there for the indoor conservatories, especially to see the blooming of the blue poppies.

The conservatories are absolutely gorgeous, composed of multiple large greenhouse buildings featuring different climates (the tropical greenhouse, the smallest one, was my favorite on the chilly day we visited, because it felt like stepping into another world).

Longwood Gardens is a fantastic day trip any time of year. Parking is easy, everything is very accessible (with scooters and wheelchairs available for free for those who need them), and navigating the park is very easy. We plan to go back during the summer when the outdoor gardens are also available.
